Spooky Treats

Do you ever think about making spooky treats for Halloween? My neighborhood is having a local spooky gathering wherein I am one of the featured guests to bring spooky delights to make everyone’s palates crave and dig in for more.

 

This is my favorite CCCC recipe--cheap coffin and caskets brownie pie recipe favorite recipes --I used to make these for my Halloween special treats.

Ingredients:

·   8 T butter, cut and in room temperature

·   2 eggs (large)

·   ½ - ¾ cup + 2 T all-purpose flour or cake flour

·   Royal Icing (white or any color of your choice

·   1/4 cup white sugar

·   1/8 cup brown sugar

·   ½ cup + 1T  cocoa powder

·   8 T butter, cut and in room temperature

·   Some marzipan or almond paste

·   1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

·   2 eggs (large)

·   1/4 cup white sugar

·   1/8 cup brown sugar

·   8 ounces dark-chocolate-covered almonds, chopped

·   Some marzipan or almond paste

·   1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

v Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Butter your pan ( 8 inch round or square)

v Melt the butter in a saucepan, on medium or low heat

v Use a sifter and sift the cocoa powder on the pan, whisk it and until combined. Let it cool for 5 mins.

v Add in eggs and pure vanilla extract.

v Add in sugar, combine in flour slowly.

v Add in some nuts or almonds if preferred.

v Add the rest of the ingredients and a pinch of salt.

v Add to your baking pan and bake for 25 mins or until set.

v Let it cool for 15-30 mins.

v Cut the brownies and decorate with marzipan and cocoa powder for dusting.

v Use a coffin shaped template or casket cookie cutters for ease.

v Decorate as you wish with icing dots and marzipan. Serve.
